Waking Up In The Sacred House Of Mirrors
When I was a young boy, I remember going to the local Carnival and coming upon one of those “House of Mirrors”. After seeing these things in a few movies, I had to go in and see it for myself.
Once inside, I remember walking down a hall lined with different shapes and sizes of mirrors, all reflecting a different, distorted, sometimes hilarious, image of me.
The climax was entering into a room where I was completely surrounded, on all sides, by mirrors. All I could see were reflections of me.
It’s been years since then, but upon reflection, I can’t help but notice the profound metaphor contained within that experience.
You see, most of us haven’t totally realized (yet) that we’re always living in a House of Mirrors. Our life is like a House of Mirrors. And like the House of Mirrors at the carnival, we’re surrounded by mirrors that are only reflecting one thing: our thinking.
We don’t see the world the way it is, we see the world the way we think it is.
This becomes obvious when you see that a group of people can go through a similar event and have completely different accounts and interpretations of it. Or when you put on a piece of music and some love it, some don’t care for it, and some hate it.
Same event. Same piece of music. What made them different for each person was determined by what each person thought about it.
In every moment, there exists the opportunity to wake up to our thinking, to realize that everything is a mirror reflecting to us the images, labels, definitions, interpretations, concepts, beliefs and meanings that we are producing from within us.
Our thoughts about something are coming from the inside-out, not the outside-in.
Why is this important to recognize?
Because we FEEL our thinking.
So, if in the moment, you believe that what you’re feeling is what a person did/didn’t do, what happened/didn’t happen, etc. you’ve entered a victim consciousness. You’re essentially affirming that your feelings are coming from the outside-in and that life is happening TO YOU.
The truth is, however, that we’re always feeling our thinking in the moment. Life is happening THROUGH US, AS US. And as the quality of our thinking changes, our feelings change with them.
Anyone who has spent a fair amount of time looking within themselves and examining their direct experience will discover this.
What you see is Thought.
All of life is merely reflecting your thinking in the moment.

What I see in this is that everything and everyone is serving a tremendous purpose in our lives.
Everything and everyone is serving us to wake up to the fact that, moment-to-moment, we are generating our “right now” experience from the inside-out via Thought brought to life by Consciousness.
Everything and everyone is a sacred mirror reflecting what you’re holding in mind in the moment.
In this sense, everything and everyone is serving us to wake us up to all the ways we may be creating unnecessary suffering, pain, limitation, fear, and lack within us.
In this sense, everything and everyone is serving us to fulfill our soul’s true potential.
In this sense, everything and everyone is serving us to wake up from our unconscious projections, and to forgive, let go, and find the happiness and peace that exists independent of circumstance and conditions.
What a beautiful and kind design.
We’re all living in a sacred House of Mirrors that has been perfectly designed to maximize and support our growth, development, unfoldment, awakening and evolution.
In this way, Life is always for you and never against you.
